Reviews for this host's other properties
I would not stay at this place again, in fact I only stayed the first night and found alternative accommodation elsewhere. I arrived late and chose not to take the taxi as it was more expensive than the one from the airport. I wasn't given the code to get the key for the door. I was instructed to ring a number which I did and then was told to ring a different number. The whole process took too long and there was absolutely no welcome at all. The place was cold and unfriendly. The carpet in hall way stank and the room itself stank of bleach and was like a prison cell! The host was not helpful at all, considering that I am a foreigner and don't know the country very well.I would not recommend this place to anyone.I gave it a one star rating as there is not option to give zero star.
Starts with smelly reception area. Tobacco smoke and B.O. Then met by a very unfriendly fat man who was of no help. He shoved two registration slips in front of us and grunted something about filling them out. When we got to our room on the third floor (in the attic) the room remained was stifling hot!! And remained so our entire stay despite some sort of cooling fan that was not adequate. We stayed three nights. The shower leaked and was "repaired via tape". The stair was broken and we tripped on that.
When we checked out we found out breakfast was offered. No one told us about this ether. We will certainly not stay here again.
We arrived late in the evening, so when we wanted to collect our key, the reception was already closed. After a few phone calls we were able to pick up our key at the seemingly closed casino next door.
The apartment itself was great, clean and bright. The only downside was that one of the sofa beds (we were with 4 persons) was a bit on the hard side. It's a great apartment if you don't want to cook yourself, because otherwise options are limited (not a lot of plates and a weird stove).
The breakfast was kind of simple. A few toasts with jam or honey, the coffee and the tea were lovely.
In the neighborhood there were a lot of nice restaurants, mini-markets and other places to eat. Shops like Pho, Pizza Letna and Mr. Hotdog were nice places to grab a bite.
The apartment was very close to a big park. This park leads to places like the Metronome, Prague Castle and an overview point of pretty much the entire city. Via the park you can also easily reach downtown Prague (straight ahead when you enter the park (just when you passed the flowers)).
We gave 3 stars. This is because of the fact that, like we said, the breakfast was a bit simple and because there weren't always people at the reception. The Wi-Fi in the room itself was pretty bad. The Wi-Fi in the hall was better.
Jan's apartment is a really nice place to stay. Near to the river and to the old town, also to the public transport. In the apartment was everything, what we needed. Only wifi coverage was too weak to use. After the day on foot it was a pity for the teenager girl ;)
To sum up, thank you, Jan!
The place is great, I enjoyed a lot the view and the location is good you can go everywhere from here. The tram is one block from here And there is a nice big park near where you can hang out. I totally recommend this place.
Really nice stay, no problems at all for anything! =)
