The flat is 200 meters from New Cross Gate Station, which gives you access to the Overground and the mainline railway (Note: the Overground is connected to the tube/underground - it just runs over ground - all tickets are valid). There are also numerous buses, which pass the flat and go straight to central London, including several night buses, so you can always get home no matter what time of night!
You can be in Trafalgar Square (by train) in just 15 minutes. The vibrant and eclectic area of Shoreditch is also just 15 minutes on the Overground. The location is ideal for any tourist or person working in central London!
So far all the guests in the flat have been very nice, interesting and very respectful of one another. I believe that they have all enjoyed their stay. The apartment is maintained daily to a high standard.
In the local area you will find everything you need for a great stay; there are 24 hour food shops, cafes, restaurants, a big supermarket (Sainsbury’s) and bars all within walking distance to the flat. The flat is very close to Goldsmith University campus, so could be an ideal base if you are visiting the university for a conference.
The apartment is really convenient if you are visiting the Olympic games this summer. It is just 20 minutes by bus to Greenwich were a number of events are taking place, and just 20 minutes to the stadium at Stratford, via the Overground and Jubilee Line.

Reviews of this property
The house was well located a few meters from the nearest DLR, the room large but sooooo cold! it seemed that the heating does not work only in the PRESIDENTIAL SUITE because throughout the house it was good! But important thing was pretty clean.
Furniture there are none, in room you will find only a bed, a sofa, a table with three chairs and a clothes hanger, "decorated" very quickly.
Ideal for a few days break but do not recommend it for a long period.
Sidney has never showed up in the house and there was only Vera the cleaning lady who did not speak any language except Portuguese!
1) Very, very noisy
The New Cross Road has lots of traffic all night and all day.
You have sirens from ambulance all night.
Bus Garage from London Traffic is around the corner.
There is no difference in noise reduction between open and closed window (old single glass windows)
2) "Shared bathroom" is mentioned in the text, but I didn't read it carefully enough.
This means, there is one "bathroom" (toilet and 1 basin) for the whole floor (5 frooms, maybe 15 persons or more)
I took some fotos to document this, but wimdu had no interest to publish them.
After reading the last review we actually became a little concerned. However, Sidney did everything he could to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. He even met us early in the morning to drive us back to the airport. The room itself is simple, but large. It is on the front side of the street, so if you are sensitive to noise, you may need earplugs. We were ok without. Sidney put the storage heater on while we were in the room and this made the temperature very nice. The rest of the property is large, with a decent size kitchen that you can use and separate toilet and bathroom. There are buses that go to the centre right outside the property and the station is two minutes away. From the station you can get a mainline train to London Bridge, which literally takes five minutes station to station.
Thanks again Sidney for all your kindness. We will come back here.
A suite for the (deaf) President of cockroaches!
First of all this room IS NOT IN LONDON BRIDGE. This is a BIG LIE. The area is called New Cross and it is a dodgy, dangerous, dirty and very noisy area of London. What makes this place even more dangerous is the fact that the keys to enter the building and flat are always left in the post box slot right outside of the house for anybody who knows (or has seen) that they are there. There is an unidentified number of disrespectful people living and moving in and out of the flat day and night. The first night we were there, a guy left in the middle of the night (after slamming his room door and talking on his phone like it is daytime) without bothering to close the main door of the flat, so basically woke up and found the front door wide open for everybody to help themselves in the flat! Couple that with the fact that the keys for the building are constantly in a public space and you can see the potential for disaster. I was living for 10 years in London and have lived in very ugly places. This room / flat is a definite champion.
The president of the cockroaches must be deaf because the presidential suite is by far the most noisy room of this horrible flat. The building is located on one of the busiest roads in London leading to the port for France, so you can get the picture. I am not even bothering mentioning the non-stop buses, ambulances and police sirens throughout all night and day. It is humanly impossible to sleep. Since the windows are from the 50s, don’t expect them to reduce the noise at all – at times I really thought that we had a window open, but no, they were all closed. The first 2 nights it was really cold in the room and the flat and we only found comfort under the duvet; the president of cockroaches does not feel any cold.
We brought our own bedsheets and towel because we read that one reviewer came in and Sidney had left the bedsheets of another guest. Also, Sidney in his welcome email lets you know that you may actually have to sleep in dirty bedsheets – if there is no time to change them netwen guests. Having our own stuff proved to be a great thing - we even used owr own duvet cover. Although our bedsheets looked clean, they had big oil marks all over which we found quite disgusting. Also there was no towel. However, I have to say that the common areas and the room were clean. The toilet was taken care of on a daily basis, which is much appreciated given the number of people who use it.
Since there are 5 rooms in the flat and some of them can accommodate up to 4 people, you may have to share the TINY shower and toilet with up to 8-10 people at a time. In our case it must have been 6-7, not sure. Don’t bother asking how long you have to queue and hold your pie (and other larger items) in the morning and you must be crazy if you expect to be able to have anything near a normal shower after 4-5 people have done so before you. So, the bottom-line is that if you are a champion in holding your pie indefinitely, remaining sleepless or sleep regardless of what happens around you, have a 30 second shower and risk having dodgy strangers in the night in your room / flat, then this is the flat for you. If you are the deaf president of the cockroaches, it is even better!
Unless you need to stay in a very cheap place, I won't advise this "Presidential Suite". There are only two good points : it's cheap and it is relatively clean. On the negative side :
- It is very noisy : the noise of the traffic will prevent anyone to sleep unless you are equiped with wax ear plug.
- As far as public transport is concerned, it is badly serviced : 20 minutes to London Bridge by bus ; you'll need to change the underground twice for a wholes journey of 40 minutes to get to downtown (piccadilly circus)
- one tiny shower ; one toilet that is in the same room of the lavatory. It would be ok if not for the 8 people or more that stay in the appartment : "Presidential Suite" is only one of the room that are rented here. Prepare then for queueing up in the morning, waiting your turn to go to the loo or to brush your teeth.
The location of the property is well located, within walking distance of overground and a supermarket. Sidney we not met at any time and did not answer our emails quickly when needed. The property was decent: the kitchen and bathroom were not very clean; and although the room was large had no closet. We were 4 people and two had to sleep on the floor with mattresses. The Presidential Suite elapsed faces a street with heavy traffic, so it was quite noisy at any time of day or night. I think the images get to see something that is not, so it was a bit disappointing when we arrived and saw that there were many different things. Usually we had no problem, but do not think we repeated accommodation when we return.

Presidential Suite by London Bridge’:
It´s recommendable suite
Traffic in London is quite heavy and some noise come into the room, but room is clean and reasonable.
It´s easy to travel center of London and district areas.
Regards. Ilpo Korhonen
We stayed in the presidential suite, which was a big room, with a double bed, a couch and table with chairs. While most of the stuff was obviously ikea stuff it was more than sufficient for the few nights we spent there. Unfortunately the room was next to a busy road with a lot of sirenes. I found it quite hard to sleep there. I recommend getting another room at this place. I also recommend reading the key instructions carefully ;)
Super Place for trips to the city,
shops and great communication
kitchen, bathroom, clean rooms
wifi, washing machine
Had a nice stay in London.
The flat is a bit outside but with a very good connection to the city via overground/underground and bus.
The room, presidential suite, was good. Very big, but too noisy, because of the street and with a lot of sirens because of a hospital nearby. Could hardly sleep there.
Would prefer another room next time, much smaller but to the back, there you don't here anything of the traffic. ;-)
The shower is very small but works fine, the toilet with a bin is separate which is very good since there are five rooms which have to spare them.
(The flat was well booked as we arrived, but there wasn't a problem about queuing in front of the bath anytime.)
The kitchen can be used, you have your own space in the fridge and there are enough plates and stuff.
Would book a room again, but next time one that faces the back. ;-)
